Wire Rope Lubricant
Royal Purple’s Wire Rope Lubricant contains specially formulated synthetic lubricants, penetrants and synthetic additives, which significantly extend the service life of wire ropes over a wide range of temperatures and working conditions common to the mining, marine and construction industries. Wire Rope Lubricant has state of-the-art corrosion inhibitors, exceptional penetrating and wetting ability and a strong adhesive film to keep the lubricant in place.
Synslide® additive technology, Royal Purple’s tough, EP lubricating film, provides maximum protection under boundary lubrication conditions typically caused by heavily loaded, slow speed and / or shock load conditions. This tenacious, slippery film significantly improves lubrication and reduces wear by increasing the oil film thickness and toughness, which helps to prevent metal-to-metal contact in gears and bearings. Synslide® additive technology is noncorrosive to gears, bearings, and any other metallic equipment components. Synslide® additive technology displaces water from metal surfaces and excels in protecting equipment in wet environments. It also fortifies the oil against the detrimental effects of heat, which causes oil to oxidize.
Wire Rope Lubricant may be brushed, rolled, dipped or sprayed onto wire ropes and cables, and will then penetrate in between strands and adhere to all metallic surfaces. Wire ropes and cables should be cleaned of any asphaltic coatings prior to application of Wire Rope Lubricant to allow proper penetration and lasting protection.
