Tuff Coat M
Tuff Coat M synthetic lubricant is formulated with penetrants and performance additives to extend the service life of wire ropes, armored cables and ROV umbilicals across the wide temperature range and demanding working conditions common to marine service. It features advanced corrosion inhibitors, exceptional penetrating and wetting ability, and a strong adhesive film that stays in place.
When properly applied, Tuff Coat M penetrates the rope or cable – between individual strands – rather than providing only surface protection like asphaltic and other surface coating lubricants. By filling the spaces between strands, it blocks the ingress of water and other contaminants that can lead to corrosion and abrasive damage. Its anti-wear and extreme-pressure performance also reduces internal wear in wire ropes and cables during service.
Tuff Coat M gains its performance advantage from its synthetic base oil formulation and Synslide™ additive technology. Synslide protects ferrous alloys and yellow metals from corrosion and chemical attack, and is compatible with and noncorrosive to common materials such as steel, brass, bronze and copper alloys. The formulation contains no lubricating solids that can build up and reduce function.
